Mental Health Awareness Week '21

10th May - 16th May 2021

‘There is something to be wondered at in all of Nature’ - Aristotle

"During long months of the pandemic, millions of us turned to nature. Our research on the mental health impacts of the pandemic showed going for walks outside was one of our top coping strategies and 45% of us reported being in green spaces had been vital for our mental health. Websites which showed footage from webcams of wildlife saw hits increase by over 2000%. Wider studies also found that during lockdowns, people not only spent more time in nature but were noticing it more.

It was as if we were re-discovering at our most fragile point our fundamental human need to connect with nature." (Taken directly from the Mental Health Foundation website)

It seemed topical, that this years theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Nature' and how this impacts our mental wellbeing.

Flowers can impact our mental health in such a positive way - which is something we have found first hand! They can help increase creativity & productivity, chase away worries & anxieties, boosting happiness and even energy! Whether you are giving them, keeping them for yourself or simply being around them - there is evidence to prove that the impact they have on us can last for days.

So what are we doing to show our support?

There are several ways in which we are going to be participating in awareness this week.

- We will be joining hundreds if not thousands of people making a conscious effort to spend more time in nature, especially this week

- During this week we will be donating 10% of your purchases to Mental Health Foundation

- Sharing posts about why this is such an important charity and week for us, how nature impacts our wellbeing, and sharing tips of how you can increase your contact with nature

- We will also be hosting a fundraiser through our instagram account, here you are able to directly donate and help us reach our target goal for the month

Why not send someone or even yourself a little bunch of happiness this week; bring nature inside with our sustainable, everlasting dried flowers - benefiting your health whilst also supporting this worthwhile charity

So keep talking and sharing your stories around this topic and let us know how being around nature benefits you too!
